This year BETNS held another SINGATHON in aid of a local charity called ‘Le Chéile’. The live event took place on Friday the 17th of December!

This year’s event was even bigger and better than previous events! The whole school was involved and every class from Junior Infants up to 6th Class performed 2 to 3 songs to help raise money for our chosen charity. There were even some school choir performances and also some teachers jiving around the Christmas Tree!

The pupils were well-rehearsed and really enjoyed raising money to help support ‘Le Chéile’. All donations, no matter how big or small to help our fundraising efforts were greatly appreciated! Le Chéile work to support local communities, in the Dublin 5, 13, and 17 areas. They support young people aged 12 -23 years of age and their families, who are experiencing challenges.

Many of the young people need support and are offered mentoring and links to services. These young people may have dropped out of school or are at risk of early school leaving, have poor school attendance, they may be getting into trouble or experiencing addiction issues, or challenging home /local environments. 

Young people need mentors who can listen, care, give advice, and share information and life/career experiences with them, where there may not be an available adult who can give them support at that time in their lives. Whole family support also is given, including referral to a family support service and /or funding family events or meals.
